Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K. Rowling, Mary GrandPré Finished again for the 4th time or so. I wanted to reread this book for the movie and I'm glad that I did. I think this was an excellant ending to the series. JK Rowling didn't shy away from the effects of war and even killed a handful of beloved characters. I went into this book with the mindset that as long as Fred, George, and Lupin were fine, I would be good. Well, she killed two of them and mangled another. Not too mention the death of Hedwig...what a way to just dive into the story. The death of Harry's first real tie to the magical world...that one hurt. But the death that most surprised me, and a lot of people, was Dobby. I think I shed the most tears for the loss of the loveable house elf.

Brilliant end to a brilliant series
